Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were involved in a thriller of a game on Sunday. Despite losing their top batsmen, the Royals managed to chase down 159 runs thanks to Rahul Tewatia and Riyan Parag who added an unbeaten 85 and took the Royals home in the most emphatic way. This also broke their four-match losing streak.

However, during and after the match, another banter took place on Twitter between Michael Vaughan and Shane Warne. After restricting SRH to 158, the latter, who is also the mentor of the Royals, was confident of his team chasing down the total. Accordingly, he took to Twitter and mentioned that RR will win the game in 17th or 18th over itself according to his gut feeling.

“Spot on with my vibe today. The boys were outstanding with the ball and on the field ! SRH 15/20 short of a good score. The @rajasthanroyals boys will get these in the 17/18th over #HallaBol,” Warne’s tweet read.

However, halfway through the chase, RR lost their way. They lost their top batsmen, Jos Buttler, Steve Smith, Ben Stokes and Sanju Samson, with not much on the board. The team was struggling at 78/5 after 12 overs and this is when, Vaughan took the jibe at Shane Warne stating, “No Chance King.” He meant that there is no chance that Royals would win the match from that position.

Michael Vaughan’s tweet backfires

However, Riyan Parag and Rahul Tewatia had other ideas as they first got their eyes in and then took the attack to the opposition to pull off a heist against SRH. This also led to Michael Vaughan’s prediction going wrong and he had to delete his tweet. But by then, Shane Warne had read it and the former Australian cricketer decided to take a dig at his Ashes rival.

Soon after the match, he responded to Vaughan asking him his views about the Royals. “Sorry. @MichaelVaughan – What was that you were saying about the @rajasthanroyals?” Now it will be interesting to see if Vaughan will respond to him to continue the banter.
