Yuvraj Singh is one of the best limited-overs cricketers to have ever played for India. It was disappointing when Yuvraj Singh decided to call quit from all forms of cricket. The left-handed batsman from Punjab announced his retirement from international cricket one year ago exactly today. On this day, the fans on Twitter started trending a hashtag in memory of his fantastic international cricket.

#MissYouYuvi became a top trend on Twitter in India with fans pouring in their love for the cricketer. The fans became nostalgic and shared their memories of the batsman. The common voice between everyone was that they were missing Yuvraj’s performance in the blue jersey. Through his career, Yuvraj became someone popular known for being a match-winner for India.

Yuvraj Singh became an integral part of the Indian team during the 2000s. Having made his debut for India at the age of 19, the stylish batsman became a key batsman in the middle-order. In 304 ODIs, Yuvraj scored 8701 at an average of 36.5. He also had a great strike rate of 87.7.

The highlight of his career would still be his performances of the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 Cricket World Cup. The first edition of the T20 World Cup saw him hit six sixes in an over and help India register a win. He also played a fantastic knock of 70 in the semi-final of the tournament. He was also the Man of the tournament in the 2011 edition of the 50-over World Cup. He took 15 wickets and scored more than 350 runs during that tournament.

Last year, he announced his retirement addressing the media. The cricketer had said, “I’d like to extend a very warm welcome to my friends from the media, my family, friends and fans from all across the world who are going to be part of, what is a very difficult and at the same time a beautiful moment for me I can’t really put it in words but I will try. After 25 years in and around the 22 yards and almost 17 years of international cricket on and off, I have decided to move on. Thank you for taking the time out to be here and to support me.”
