Yuvraj Singh, the former Indian all-rounder is enjoying his time to the fullest after bidding adieu to international cricket. He has become quite active on social media platforms and vocal in various media interactions. Now, the left-hander has opened up saying about two batsmen who can score a double ton in the shorter format of the game in the future.

The trend of the scoring double century in the limited-overs began when Sachin Tendulkar became the first player on the planet to score a double in the 50-over format back in 2010 against South Africa. After that many batsmen like Rohit Sharma, Chris Gayle, Virender Sehwag, Martin Guptill and Fakhar Zaman smashed double tons.

However, there is still no player who has smashed a double ton in the shorter format of the game. The record of the highest score in T20s is held by Chris Gayle, who played a marathon knock of 175 runs in the Indian Premier League.

‘It’s tough to score a double ton in T20s’: Yuvraj Singh

In a recent interview, Yuvraj Singh, the former Indian said that it is quite tough to score a double ton in the shorter format. But, in cricket, there is no word called possible as anything can happen on the day. As per him, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers possess the calibre to score double in T20Is.

“It (T20 double ton) is very tough I feel. But it is not impossible I would say. With the way the game of cricket is going these days, I feel nothing is impossible. So let us wait and hope for the best. Well, Chris Gayle and AB de Villiers (South Africa) have retired from international cricket, oh wait, Gayle is still playing I forgot.

In my eyes, these were the two guys who could have scored a double hundred in T20I cricket. Rohit Sharma would be the third guy I can think of when it comes to a double T20 ton,” Yuvraj Singh said as quoted by Sport360.
