4. Wanindu Hasaranga’s Neymar-inspired gesture
Wanindu Hasaranga, the star leg-spinner from Sri Lanka, was bought by RCB at the 2022 mega IPL auction. In the second game only against KKR, he lit up the tournament with his four-wicket haul and received a lot of attention with his Neymar-inspired celebration.
In a low-scoring thriller, Hasaranga picked up the wickets of players like Shreyas Iyer, Sunil Narine, Sheldon Jackson and Tim Southee. The 24-year-old first-time imitated the Paris German Saint (PSG) star footballer Neymar’s celebration in IPL 2022 against Punjab Kings when Shahbaz Ahmed took a low catch of Mayank Agarwal.
Speaking about the reason behind his unique celebration, the Sri Lankan cricketer said that Neymar is his favorite footballer and the celebration is inspired by him. The all-rounder will be seen in action in their next encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
