The 30th match of the Indian Premier League brought a lot of entertainment for fans where Rajasthan Royals came out victorious in a high-scoring thriller. Though the match had a lot of interesting moments, there was a moment between Venkatesh Iyer and KKR skipper Shreyas Iyer that caught great attention. During the last ball of the 16th over, Trent Boult was up in action and he bowled a fuller one to Venkatesh and the batter ran for a single.

However, Hetmyer was quite quick to collect the ball and threw it at Shreyas’ end which could have taken his wicket, but the skipper himself wanted a double which was denied by the MP cricketer. The miscommunication between the batters and the lack of quickness while running didn’t go well with the KKR skipper and he could be seen getting furious at the all-rounder.

Talking of the match, the Royals posted a massive 217 runs on the board on the back of Jos Buttler’s stunning century. On the other hand, KKR also seemed to be very much in the chase till the time Shreyas was operating on the crease but a dream 17th over by Yuzvendra Chahal, where he completed his hat trick, turned the game entirely in RR’s favour.

My plan was to bat through the end: Shreyas Iyer

“I think from the start we got, we really were going well according to the run-rate. Finchy was good but once he was out, we slowed down a bit. We lacked a bit over there, but it’s a part of the game. Unfortunately, we couldn’t click. My plan was to bat through the end, the opposite batsman had to take it on from ball one. The match-up Rana had was with Chahal. He did not time that and it happens. He [Buttler] started a bit slow and after that, he just went off,” said Iyer while speaking after the match.

“The way he manoeuvres the ball, he is a classy batsman. Kudos to the way he batted. If we had got him out early, the scoreboard would’ve looked very different. Dew didn’t play a big role tonight. Amazing wicket to bat on. Unfortunately, Brabourne hasn’t been great for us. Hopefully, we will come back hard in the coming games,” he added.
