5 instances where cricketers abused their own teammates on-field
Not often we see teammates going after each other, but they do, its tough times for the captain.
5. Ishant Sharma – Ravindra Jadeja, 2018
The most recent of all the incidents mentioned in the list came in Australia, where India scripted history by winning their first-ever Test series in that country. During the Perth Test, which was the only Test India lost in that series, Ravindra Jadeja and Ishant Sharma were spotted having a very animated conversation.
There is no clear explanation as to what led to the rift between Ishant and Jadeja but it seems the former was not happy with the latter’s fielding position. Both players were pointing fingers at each other and the broadcasters replayed the incident quite a few times to prove it wasn’t just a normal chat.
“Who knows what they’re talking about, it does seem very animated, there’s lots of finger-pointing. Things have obviously got a little bit heated between these two,” Ponting said while commentating for Channel 7. Australia hammered the Indian side by 146 runs, only to see Kohli and his team win the next game and clinch an unforgettable triumph.
