Azhar Ali shares a heartwarming video of reunion with his son after two months

The Pakistan cricket team had toured England for a three-match Test and T20 series scheduled from August 5 to September 1. The 31-member Pakistan squad had reached England at the end of June as they had to serve a mandatory 14 days quarantine period before they began their training and practice for the series. The team was also kept in self-isolation for a few days in Lahore and was tested for the novel coronavirus before they boarded a chartered flight to the UK.

Azhar Ali, the captain of the Pakistan Test team reached back home to his family late night on Wednesday (September 2) after completing this long tour. The skipper received a warm welcome at the airport as his family including his 2-year-old baby boy Azlan Azhar arrived at the airport to receive him.

The cricketer took to his official Twitter handle to share an adorable video on his arrival in Pakistan. The video beautifully captures the reaction of little Azlan on seeing his father after a span of almost two months. The short clip ends with the 2-year-old hugging Azhar.

An insight into Azhar Ali’s performance in England tour

In the three-Test and T20I matches played, the result of only one Test and two T20 Internationals were considered as all the other matches resulted in draws after being disturbed by rain. The England tour started on a bad note for the Pakistan Test captain as he could not perform with bat and was criticized brutally on social media for the team’s loss in the first Test match. However, giving back to the trolls, Azhar smashed a not out 141 runs in the first innings of the last and final Test match.

English men clinched the three-match Test series with 1-0. Men in Green had lost the first match to the hosts despite having a massive lead of 107-run after the end of the first innings, which made all the difference in the end as the other two matches were washed away by the rain.

Azhar was not a part of the T20I team where Pakistan lost the second match by 5 wickets but equalled the scores after winning the final and last T20 International by 5 runs under the leadership of Babar Azam.
