32-year-old fast bowler Peter Siddle who has been extremely effective for the Australian cricket team in the past has been signed by the Adelaide Strikers from the Melbourne Renegades. Siddle missed the last edition due to injury which may have been a factor behind the Renegades’ decision considering his struggle with injuries.

Strikers coach said:

Siddle can generate bounce from any surface and bowl at a venomous pace with variations which makes this an exciting decision. “We feel we’ve just got a great coup in Siddle and he adds considerable depth,” Strikers coach Jason Gillespie said. “He’s also a great guy and we’re really looking forward to him playing an important role in the next few years.”

4. Brad Hodge from Strikers to Renegades

Adelaide Strikers are all set to lose their captain Brad Hodge who has opted to return to his home state instead. The 42-year-old is one of the most tactically astute players currently which makes this nothing short of a coup for the Renegades whom he represented in BBL 01. Hodge enjoyed a glorious BBL 06 campaign smashing 281 at a strike rate of 130 for the Strikers.

Renegades coach said:

Head coach Andrew McDonald seemed extremely pleased with this acquisition -“Hodgey is one of the best T20 players the game has seen so to land him is a really big boost for the team. His contribution will extend well beyond runs on the scoreboard. He’ll be an important sounding board for our leaders and will be able to provide some great insight for our younger squad members.”
