St Lucia Zouks qualified to the CPL final for the first time after a resounding win over Guyana Amazon Warriors in the semi-final. Scott Kuggeleijn picked two wickets in the very first over of the game but the Warriors crawled to 51/5 in 11 overs. In the space of 15 balls, the Guyana team lost four wickets for four runs and were bundled out for only 55 runs. The St Lucia team didn’t take much longer to chase down the target as the openers Rahkeem Cornwall and Mark Deyal finished it off in only 4.3 overs.

Here are all the statistical highlights from St Lucia’s thumping win over the Amazon Warriors:

St Lucia’s record-breaking victory:

1 – The 10-wicket win for St Lucia Zouks in this match is their first-ever CPL win by a margin of 10 wickets. This is also the first-ever CPL defeat by a margin of ten wickets for the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

7 – The victory in the semi-final was the 7th win for St Lucia Zouks in the 2020 CPL. These are the most number of matches the St Lucia franchise won in an edition of CPL surpassing the six wins in 2016.


Zouks better MI’s record:

93 – St Lucia Zouks completed the chase of 56 with 93 balls to spare; the biggest win in terms of balls to spare in the CPL history. The previous biggest CPL win in terms of balls to spare was recorded by St Kitts and Nevis Patriots when they chased down 129 with 78 balls to spare against Barbados Tridents in 2017.

93 – The victory with 93 balls to spare of Zouks is also the biggest win in terms of balls to spare in any franchise-based T20 league match. The previous biggest was in 87 balls by Mumbai Indians when they chased down 68-run target with 87 balls to spare against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2008.


A record low total for Guyana:

55 – The total of 55 by Guyana Amazon Warriors is the 2nd lowest in the history of CPL. The lowest CPL total is recorded by the Trinidad franchise in the inaugural 2013 edition against the Barbados Tridents.

55 – Guyana Amazon Warriors’ total of 55 is also the 2nd lowest-ever in a knockout/playoff match in the Twenty20 format. The lowest is 47/10 which was recorded by the Titans against Eagles during the semi-final of the 2004 South Africa domestic T20 tournament.


A forgettable season for King:

4 – Brandon King bagged four ducks in this edition of the CPL which are the joint-most number of ducks for any player in a CPL. Albie Morkel in 2013 and Sunil Narine in 2017 also got out for a duck on four instances.

4 – King and Shimron Hetmyer registered their 4th CPL duck for the Guyana Amazon Warriors. These are the joint-most number of ducks in the CPL for Guyana franchise. Sohail Tanvir, Christoper Barnwell and Nicholas Pooran also have four CPL ducks each for the Warriors.
