In the last IPL edition, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) couldn’t deliver anything solid to their supporters, as they ended up in the eighth position with only six victories. After witnessing shambolic performances under Kane Williamson’s leadership, the franchise parted ways with him and many other important names.

At the mini-auction last month, SRH participated with a budget of INR 42.25 crore. In the event, they got some quality players such as Harry Brook, Mayank Agarwal, Adil Rashid, and Akeal Hosein. Along with these names, the franchise bought the South Africa wicket-keeper batte,r Heinrich Klaasen, who doesn't have a decent record in the league. The Protea batter got signed at a huge sum of INR 5.25 crore, however, instead of him, the franchise should've picked some other batters who were amazing in the T20 format in the last few months.

Here are three players SRH should’ve bought instead of Heinrich Klaasen

3. Travis Head

Travis Head is a credible name in the Big Bash League (BBL) as he has won a lot of games for Adelaide Strikers with his power-hitting ability. For his team, the left-hander has scored 1,375 runs so far in 56 matches at a strike rate of 132.59. Last month, he participated in the 2023 IPL auction to go under the hammer after five years.

In the event, he went unsold as no franchise raised the bidding paddles to sign him. Despite having more than 10 years of BBL experience, he received cold shoulder from the franchises. For his national side Australia too, he has played 17 games, in which he has racked up 345 runs at a strike rate of 133.20.

However, these facts and figures didn’t help him to get a buyer at the mini-auction. The Aussie wicket-keeper had submitted his name with his base price of INR 2 crore. Noting his basic amount, SRH could’ve roped him into their team instead of Heinrich Klaasen, whose IPL record is similar to Head.
