CricTracker takes a look at the major records broken during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
3. Krunal Pandya becomes first player to win two POTM awards in IPL finals
Krunal Pandya became the first player to win the Player of the Match award in the IPL on two different occasions. In the IPL 2017 final, he scored a crucial 47 off 38 balls and bowled a decent spell, conceding 31 runs in his four overs, to help Mumbai Indians beat Rising Pune Supergiant by just 1 run.
In the IPL 2025 final, Krunal couldn't make much of an impact, getting dismissed for a five-ball four. However, he bowled a phenomenal spell, picking up the important wickets of Prabhsimran Singh and Josh Inglis, and finished with figures of 2/17 in four overs. He won the Player of the Match award in both these games, contributing for the sides when it mattered the most.
