T20 World Cup 2022: Rating bowling attacks of Super 12 teams
The T20 extravaganza in Australia saw an even contest between bat and ball, and bowlers had their say more often than not.
3. New Zealand - 8.5/10
The New Zealand bowling unit was quite consistent during its T20 World Cup campaign. They completely dismantled the intimidating Australian batting line-up in the first game of the Super 12 round and bundled it for 111. The Kiwi bowlers were again at their clinical best against Sri Lanka and sent the opposition packing for 102 runs.
The Black Caps had one of the best new-ball pairs in Tim Southee and Trent Boult, and the duo did a decent job in the T20 extravaganza. Southee featured in five games and picked seven wickets at an economy of 6.57.
On the other hand, Boult bagged eight wickets at an economy of 7.40. However, the veteran pair failed to set the tone with the new-ball in the game against England and Pakistan, and the Kiwis ended up losing both games.
Mitchell Santner was quite impeccable throughout the tournament. He strangled batters with his accurate line and length and was amongst the wickets in most games. Santner ended the tournament with nine wickets to his credit in five games and that too at an economy of 6.45.
