4. Odean Smith

West Indies' very own Odean Smith was roped in by the Punjab Kings for a whopping 6 crores at the IPL auction ahead of the 2022 season. He was thought to provide the much-needed balance to the side but failed to live up to his potential.

As a result, the 25-year-old was dropped from the playing XI during the tournament. The allrounder played six matches for Punjab in IPL 2022 and took six wickets at an economy rate of 11.87. With the bat, Smith just scored 51 runs at a strike rate of 115.91. Thus, he had a pretty mediocre outing in both departments for the franchise.

In the absence of Andre Russell, Odean Smith will be expected to play an important role for the West Indies during the T20 World Cup. He is an explosive batter but consistency has been his biggest challenge. For West Indies to qualify for the Super 12 of the competition, Smith needs to get back to his absolute best and help the team overcome the challenge.
