BBL 2025-26: Travis Head re-signs with Adelaide Strikers, says it was 'a very easy decision'
Upon extending his contract for another year, Head has expressed that he did not find it hesitating to be signing for another year.
Star Australian all-rounder Travis Head has confirmed his re-signing with Adelaide Strikers ahead of the upcoming season of the Big Bash League. This means that Head will continue representing the side he has for all of his career in the BBL, after making his debut in the league in 2012-13, his only game that season.
Upon extending his contract for another year, Head has expressed that he did not find it hesitating to be signing for another year, stating how much he finds being at home when playing at the Adelaide Oval. He also said that the iconic venue is one of the best in Australia, and that the crowd support there is always fascinating.
“It’s great to add another year on. It was a very easy decision to stay in Adelaide. We’ve had some awesome years at the Strikers, so I'm looking forward to contributing, depending on what my availability is like over the summer. It makes it so easy to sign on because Adelaide Oval is the best ground in Australia, and we’re really well-supported by the best fans,” Head said in his official statement after the signing.
Thrilled to welcome Travis back: Tim Paine
Meanwhile, Strikers head coach and former Australia wicketkeeper-batter Tim Paine has also expressed his delight upon Head's re-signing. However, he has also addressed that Head will be having an extremely hectic schedule with the national side, as the all-important Ashes will be played at home, starting November 21 and running up until early January 2026.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Travis back to the Strikers - not only for his explosive batting, but for the energy, leadership, and experience he adds to the group. We understand Trav has a busy international schedule, but we’re really looking forward to welcoming him back into the side after the Ashes,” Paine told on Head's re-signing.
