‘He hasn't got out to short ball for the first time’ - Aakash Chopra analyses Yashasvi Jaiswal’s dismissal against DC

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra recently came forward to talk about the dismissal of star Rajasthan Royals batter Yashasvi Jaiswal in his side’s recent game against Delhi Capitals. Aiming to chase down a target of 222 runs against DC, RR got off to a subpar start as opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was sent packing for a score of four runs in two deliveries. Hitting a boundary off the very first delivery, Jaiswal lifted the ball up in the air on the second delivery as it landed safely in the hands of Axar Patel.
Talking about his dismissal, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra took centre stage and reflected on how Jaiswal was once again dismissed on a short ball and how it was once again to a left-arm pacer.
"When it was the turn for the run chase, Yashasvi Jaiswal got out to a left-arm pacer once again. He hasn't got out to a short ball for the first time. He has been dismissed many times and got out once more. It was an almost similar shot and got caught in front of the wickets," Aakash Chopra said in a video on his YouTube channel.
"Buttler got a life but Axar (Patel) dismissed him as well. Riyan Parag played well for a short while, played one or two good shots, but then he too got out. When he got out to Rasikh Salam's back-of-the-hand slower one, it seemed like things would get stuck," he added
I felt he would score a century: Chopra
Furthermore, Aakash Chopra reflected on the knock of RR skipper Sanju Samson, who looked exceptional for his side during the run chase against DC. Scoring 86 runs in 46 deliveries, Samson looked all set for a big one, however, his dismissal derailed the plans for RR.
“Sanju Samson kept smashing at one end. How well he is batting. I felt he would score a century. A hundred wasn't scored, he fell prey to Mukesh Kumar, but not before scoring 86 off 46 balls. He batted incredibly well. He was timing the ball sweetly. Shubham Dubey also batted well for some time," Chopra concluded.
