The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) match was one of the most thrilling games of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 so far, which went down to the wire and kept all the fans on their feet on the given day.

There was a lot of excitement for the match, and there is no doubt that the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium was completely jam-packed on the day. According to the reports from Times Of India (TOI), there were four individuals arrested by the Bengaluru’s Central Crime Branch (CCB) for selling the IPL match tickets at exorbitant prices.

The four people who were arrested are S Charan Raj, H Harshavardhan Sanklecha, K Vinay, and B Venkata Sai, and have been caught with 32 tickets of the encounter outside the venue on Saturday. The report also claimed that the original price of the tickets was INR 1200, and the accused for selling them for a price of INR 10,000, where Venkat Sai sourced bulk of the tickets.

“This is not just a case of street-level touting. We're examining how such large quantities of tickets landed in the hands of individuals unauthorised to distribute them,” a senior police official said, as quoted by The Hindustan Times.

The last case of black ticket sellers

This was not the first instance this season where the black ticket sellers were caught, since a similar case was witnessed a month ago where the CCB arrested eight people which also include the stadium and canteen staff who were reselling IPL tickets in black. Police recovered 18 tickets of various denominations, some originally priced at INR 1,200, INR 5,000, and INR 13,000, being illegally sold for anywhere between INR 7,000 and 32,000.
