Jadeja reflects on 2017 Galle memories as he reaches 350 Test wickets

Ravindra Jadeja took four wickets in the recent match and reached the significant milestone of 350 Test wickets during the contest. The achievement places him among an elite group of cricketers in Test history. At 37 years old, Jadeja is the fourth cricketer to complete the double of 4,000 runs and 350 wickets in Test cricket, alongside Kapil Dev, Ian Botham and Daniel Vettori.

"Yes, it's from here. Barring the colour which has changed, the rest is the same. The last series we played here was in 2017. Obviously playing for India for 10 years means a lot because it takes a lot of effort to stay for a longer period of time," Jadeja said in a video released by BCCI.

In the 2017 series against Sri Lanka, Jadeja claimed his ninth five-wicket haul in the second Test, securing a series-clinching victory by innings and 53 runs. That performance demonstrated his effectiveness at the venue and his ability to deliver in crucial matches for India.

India's performance in the Galle Test improved their World Test Championship standing. The team's WTC points percentage rose to 53.33 from 48.14, though they remained in fifth spot in the standings.

India and Sri Lanka will lock horns in the second and final Test of the series at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo on Sunday, August 23. India will look to build on their strong performance in the opening Test, while Sri Lanka will aim to bounce back and level the series.

The Colombo surface is expected to offer assistance to spinners as the Test progresses, making the battle between the batters and Sri Lanka's spin attack crucial. India, meanwhile, will rely on their experienced batting unit and varied bowling attack to maintain the upper hand.
