Since his Test debut on December 13, 2012, against England, Jadeja has quietly assembled a career that places him among the most complete players in the history of the format. 3. An elite all-round Test record that very few can match

Before the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle, Jadeja had played 89 Test matches, scoring 4,095 runs at an average of 38, with a best score of 175*. His best bowling figures in an innings stand at 7/42, and he had taken 348 Test wickets. During Sri Lanka's first innings, he entered the 350-wicket club. Those numbers alone tell a remarkable story, but the context makes them even more striking.

He is only the fourth player in history to score 4,000 or more Test runs and take 350 or more Test wickets. He also reached the 2,500-run and 250-wicket Test double faster than anyone before him. In October 2019, he became the quickest left-arm bowler to reach 200 Test wickets.
