Shikhar Dhawan buys INR 69-crore ultra-luxury apartment in Gurugram

Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has made a high-profile real estate investment by purchasing a super-luxury apartment in The Dahlias, the latest offering by DLF. The property is located at DLF5 Golf Links in Sector 54 of Haryana's Gurugram which spans over 6,040 square feet.

According to documents accessed by real estate analytics firm CRE Matrix, the total cost of the apartment is INR 65.61 crore, with the cricketer paying an additional stamp duty of INR 3.28 crore. This brings the total transaction value to approximately INR 68.89 crore. The apartment also comes with five dedicated parking slots.

The documents reveal that the per square foot rate on carpet area stands at INR 1,14,068.61, while the rate based on the super area is INR 1,08,631, which makes this one of the most expensive property deals in the country.

The left-handed batter, who recently hung his boots on international and domestic cricket following an out-of-favour stint with the national side, called a time on his cricketing career and is now actively seen at promotional events. The Indian veteran made his international debut in 2010 in an ODI against Australia in Visakhapatnam. His final appearance for India also came in a 50-over match against Bangladesh in 2022. During his international career, he represented India in 34 Tests, 167 One-Day Internationals, and 68 T20Is as well.

With a career studded with milestones and incredible achievements, Dhawan made himself enough fortune to be buying a residential space for him and his family at The Dahilas, which is located on the Golf Course Road. The entire project where Dhawan bought this property spans over 7.5 million square feet, comprising 420 ultra-luxury residences spread across eight towers and 29 floors.

After retirement, Dhawan gets to spend more time with near and dear ones. As a result, this purchase to provide the family with a comfortable accomodation seems to be justified.
