[Watch] MLC 2025: Michael Bracewell comically signals for review before realising he was bowled
It was an outing to forget for Bracewell with bat and ball.
Michael Bracewell was seen gesturing for a review after getting bowled during Match 14 between MI New York vs San Francisco Unicorns of the ongoing edition of Major League Cricket. This was after the Kiwi batting all-rounder was dismissed for a golden duck during his side's run-chase.
Bracewell tried to swipe a length ball which was directed in the line of the stumps by Romario Shepherd. The ball travelled through the gap between bat and pad to eventually kiss the off stump on the way. It was only after Shepherd pointed out to Bracewell that the latter realised that he had not been adjudged LBW.
San Francisco eventually went on to claim a 47-run victory to extend their unbeaten run to five games. On the other hand, New York suffered their fourth loss in five games. All in all, it was a day to forget for Bracewell. He was provided only two overs with the ball and ended up conceding 35 in them.
Later on, the first-ball dismissal with the bat marked the third time in T20s that he had been dismissed on the first ball he faced. Another person who had an off day was skipper, Nicholas Pooran. He could only manage to score 15 off 17 in a daunting run-chase of 247 runs. He failed to build on the foundation the opening batters had laid.

As for Shepherd, he made a good comeback with the ball after failing to make an impact in the first innings. The West Indian ended up registering the most economical figures from bowlers across the two sides. His figures read 2/30 in four overs, including the wickets of Quinton de Kock (70 off 46) and Bracewell (0 off 1).
