MS Dhoni holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army's Parachute Regiment.
Legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni has once again shown his love and respect for the Indian Army and automobiles. The wicketkeeper-batter's beloved 2009 Hummer H2 has recently undergone a military-themed makeover, with the video of the revamped SUV recently going viral.
The 44-year-old, who holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army, has consistently expressed admiration for the Indian Army. Dhoni’s Hummer now features artwork displaying fighter jets, tanks, helicopters, and soldiers in combat. The design was executed by a Ranchi-based car detailing studio. Achyut Kishore, the studio's founder, revealed that the concept was personally visualized by Dhoni, who wanted the SUV to showcase his strong connection with the armed forces.

Notably, this isn’t the first time Dhoni has publicly shown his respect for the military. Back in the 2019 World Cup, he wore gloves featuring the ‘Balidaan Badge’, a symbol of the Indian Para Special Forces. He has also completed parachute jumps as part of his training and visits soldiers to spend time with them.
Meanwhile, Dhoni’s love for automobiles is well known. Apart from the Hummer, his car collection includes the Ferrari 599 GTO, Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, Nissan Jonga, Citroën Basalt Dark Edition, and even a classic 1980 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II. He also has a vast collection of bikes, including vintage models and superbikes.
Dhoni, who recently turned 44 on July 7, celebrated his birthday in Ranchi with close friends. A video of him cutting the cake in a sleeveless T-shirt quickly went viral. Days later, his wife, Sakshi, shared pictures of Dhoni petting two of their dogs.
Furthermore, the Ranchi-born who announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020, has continued to feature in the IPL. In the recent IPL 2025 season for CSK, Dhoni once again took up the captaincy duties after regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out mid-season. However, the five-time champions had an underwhelming season, as they finished at the bottom of the table. Dhoni also revealed that he would take 4-5 months to decide whether he would return to the cash-rich league in the next season.
