The road to T20 World Cup 2024 is on. Most of the best players in the world are taking part in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, which is proving to be a good way for the players to prepare for the tournament. The league might also be helpful in bringing out talented players from India to the notice. Some of the players like Shashank Singh, Mayank Yadav, Yash Thakur, Ashutosh Sharma, Nitish Reddy, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, and many others have been highly impressive.

Some of the experienced players have also been able to make a mark in the league. Some players who could not do well in the previous seasons have been able to do well in the ongoing season. The T20 World Cup 2024 is set to take place in June, which is a little over 6 months from here. Some of the emerging teams in the world have an opportunity to make a mark in the big tournament. There are some uncapped players who might be picked by India for the tournament.

Here are 3 uncapped players who might get picked for India's squad in the T20 World Cup 2024 :

1. Mayank Yadav

Mayank Yadav has taken the tournament on fire with his fiery spells. The right-arm pacer can operate at a quick pace with good accuracy. In the IPL 2024, he has been highly impressive with his performances so far. The youngster had a brilliant debut against PBKS, where he singlehandedly turned the game. Defending a low total, he ended up with figures of 3/26 on his debut, which helped LSG win.

In the match, none of his deliveries clocked a pace of less than 140 kmph, which was brilliant. In the following match against RCB, he was even better. On a wicket like M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, he owned RCB with a spell of 3/14 in his spell of 4 overs. Given his pace and accuracy, Yadav might be considered for a spot in the T20 WC 2024, where the pace of the bowlers can make a difference.

2. Abhishek Sharma

Abhishek Sharma has been scoring runs for fun in the ongoing league. More importantly, he has been scoring them at an aggressive rate. In 5 innings so far, the Southpaw has 177 runs at a batting average of 35.40, at an insane batting strike rate of 208.24, including a fifty to his name. The youngster has batted well in most of the matches, which is one of the main reasons behind the good performances of SRH.

In the first game against KKR, the top-order batter scored 32 runs in 19 balls. The following game against MI saw his beast performance where he smashed 63 runs in 23 balls. Against GT, Sharma scored 29 runs in 20 balls. He followed it up with a 12-ball 37 that clinched the game for SRH in the first 3 overs against CSK. Against PBKS, Abhishek scored 16(11). He can step up as a bowler and deliver a few overs if required.

Akash Madhwal made a name for himself in the IPL 2023 where he nailed yorkers for fun. The right-arm pacer bowled well for MI in a season where they had an average bowling attack. In 8 matches in the season, Madhwal claimed 14 wickets at an impressive bowling average of 15.64, at a bowling strike rate of 10.93, including a fifer. Against LSG in the Eliminator match, Madhwal registered his career-best figures.

The MI pacer registered the best bowling figures for a bowler in the knockout stages by claiming 5/5 in his spell of 3.3 overs. He also claimed 3/31 and 4/37 against GT and SRH respectively on a flat deck like Wankhede Stadium. In his first match of the IPL 2024, Akash claimed 3/20 in his 4 overs against RR. Given his accuracy at the death, he can be considered as an option by the Indian management. He is also a wicket-taking bowler in the middle overs.
