IPL 2024, Match 4: Rajasthan Royals vs Lucknow Super Giants Match Preview

The Indian Premier League 2024 will continue to enthral fans with riveting T20 action as Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will take on each other in Match 4 on Sunday, March 24 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. Both teams will be eager to have a fresh start to the season by winning their first fixture.

In the previous edition, Rajasthan Royals failed to qualify for the playoffs as they finished fifth on the points table with seven wins from 14 matches having 14 points to their name. After getting off to a good start to the season with four wins from the first five matches, RR lost their way losing six out of the next nine games and were eventually knocked out.

Hence, the Sanju Samson-led side will be eager to finish in the top four in the ongoing edition having added the likes of Rovman Powell, Nandre Burger and Tom Kohler Cadmore among others to their squad. On the other hand, Lucknow Super Giants qualified for the playoffs for the second consecutive time in 2023 but were knocked out following a loss against Mumbai Indians in the Eliminator.

The KL Rahul-led side has been quite consistent with their performances in their first two seasons but haven’t been able to go all the way to lift the trophy. Having bolstered their team with the addition of Devdutt Padikkal, Shivam Mavi, Ashton Turner and David Willey among others, LSG will hope to go further ahead into the playoffs and get a shot at winning the elusive trophy.

Rajasthan's XI is likely to remain the same as previous season barring a few changes. With the absence of Adam Zampa, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal become automatic choice for two spinners. In the seam department, Avesh Khan will join Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma. They can further go ahead with either of Riyan Parag or Rovman Powell and bring the benched person in as Impact Player if they're batting second.

Ayush Badoni will be expected to give the finishing touch while Krunal Pandya and Ravi Bishnoi will be the two spinners with Naveen ul Haq in as a seamer.
