With his classical yet attacking leg-spin, Amit Mishra proved to be a lethal threat to a lot of batters during his playing days. The 42-year-old leg-spinner brought his career to a close by announcing retirement on September 4, 2025.

Mishra played 68 internationals for India. In hindsight, he did not play as many matches as his talent warranted. However, he could easily be considered as an IPL legend as well as a seasoned veteran for Haryana in domestic cricket. 3. Oldest Indian player to have featured in the IPL

Brad Hogg is the oldest cricketer to have featured in the IPL. The left-arm wrist-spinner played his final IPL match aged 45. While it might have been a bit unrealistic for Mishra, currently 42, to break Hogg's long-standing record, it was not entirely impossible since he is still fit.

Further, had Mishra been in the midst of things for three more seasons, he could have surpassed Pravin Tambe's record of featuring in the tournament at 44 years of age. Former Indian cricketing legend MS Dhoni played IPL 2025 at an age of 43.
