Colombo Strikers (CS) will lock horns with Galle Titans (GT) in the 20th match of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023 at the R Premdasa Stadium in Colombo on August 15. Colombo Strikers have played seven matches where they have won three matches and are at the bottom of the table. Galle Titans, on the other hand, has a similar record but due to a better net run rate are in the fourth position in the rankings.

Colombo Strikers had played against B-Love Kandy in their last match where Colombo Strikers won the toss and elected to bat. Strikers made a decent start but soon were followed by a couple of wickets in quick succession. Nissanka and Dhananjaya although did not let the match slip away and due to their fantastic partnership, they posted a strong total of 169 runs on the board. Kandy did not start well too but their middle order kept the scoreboard ticking. However, they kept losing wickets regularly which hurt them in the end as they fell short of the target by just nine runs.

Galle Titans had played against Jaffna Kings in their last match where Jaffna Kings won the toss and elected to bat. Winning the toss and choosing to bat proved to be a horrible decision for them as after a devastating start they could never manage to get back up. They kept losing wickets and soon were bowled out for just 89 runs. This was never going to be a daunting total for Titans and so it didn’t. Tim Seifert ensured that boundaries are scored regularly and with his knock of 55 runs, he had won his team the game by seven wickets and with more than six overs to spare.
