This age of cricket can be called the commercial age. Everything that is happening on the field has a sponsor name attached to it. May it be a six or a four or a wicket or a fantastic piece of fielding, everything has a sponsor. The T10 Cricket League that is being played at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium is one such example. Commercialization of cricket has gone to a different level.

We have seen sixes and fours being sponsored in the Indian Premier League but T10 has sponsored dot balls. They are called as “Alubond Dot ball”. Sixes and fours are called as “Sapil Solis Shots”. There are cheerleaders marching on the ground before the game and then the much known Great Khali gracing the occasion.

He was standing just outside the midwicket boundary where the newly built celebrity stands are or we can just call them the costliest seat in the house. In the presence of all the celebrities and a lot of popular faces from Bollywood that included two of the Khan brothers Arbaaz and Sohail the match went on smoothly and an Irish batter won many hearts.

Kerela win against Bengal tigers

Kerala Kings captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and opted to bowl. Bengal tigers put up a score of 86 in their allotted ten overs. The format being a new one, no one knew what a good score is. The score of 86 seemed decent but Paul Stirling of Kerala kings made it look easy. He smashed 66 of those 86 runs needed and almost won the match with ease.

The fact that he had played a match at the same venue a week ago and smashed a century then helped him. He scored 66 of just 27 deliveries and won the game for his team. Just like Ireland won against Afghanistan on Sunday, good times for Stirling. It will be interesting to see how this league pans out as the competition progresses.
