A rare 10-wicket loss for India:

2 – Only the 2nd time India lost an ODI at home by a 10-wicket margin. South Africa chased down the target of 189 during the 2005 Kolkata ODI without losing a wicket. It was the last of the previous four instances where India lost an ODI by a 10-wicket margin.

2007 – Only the 5th time Australia won an ODI by a 10-wicket margin. Their last such win came in the 2007 World Cup against Bangladesh while chasing 105.

Yet another home defeat for India against Australia:

Other such streak came across 2003 and 2006 where Australia played a Tri-series and Champions Trophy in India. Since 2005, only Australia and Pakistan (4 in a row in 2005) have won four consecutive matches against India in India.

The record partnership:

258* – The unbeaten 258-run stand between Aaron Finch and David Warner is now the first-ever 250+ partnership in ODI format by any pair against India. The previous highest ODI stand by any pair against India was 242 between George Bailey and Steve Smith for the 3rd wicket in the 2016 Perth ODI.

The Finch-Warner stand is also the first 250+ opening partnership in ODI format on Indian soil. The previous highest was 235 by Herschelle Gibbs and Gary Kirsten in the 2000 Kochi ODI.

258* – This is also Australia’s 3rd highest partnership in ODI cricket for any wicket and the highest in an ODI chase. The previous highest stand for Australia in an ODI chase was 252* by Shane Watson and Ricky Ponting for the 2nd wicket during the 2009 Champions Trophy.

Hundreds for both Warner and Finch:
