IPL 2019: Under Performers XI of the tournament so far
Many star names this edition have failed to live up to their reputation.
10. Tim Southee (Royal Challengers Bangalore)
One of New Zealand’s finest fast bowlers ever, Tim Southee and his experience came to no great use in the tournament this season. The few games he played for the team this season, he got hammered to all parts, the most famous one being Andre Russell taking him down to 29 runs in an over at the Chinnaswamy earlier.
There’s no denying the quality Southee adds to RCB, but it has very barely reflected on the performances. Virat Kohli needs marquee bowlers more than ever before and at this juncture, he is their only option. In the three games he played, he picked up just one wicket and conceded runs at an economy of 13.11, which is very uncharacteristic to his liking.
