This is one of the major reasons why every team targets a few players in an auction. Over the years, we have seen a lot of mega auctions where a relatively unpopular yet effective cricketer has attracted a big bid. This occurs when that particular cricketer does well time and again and proves why he deserves a better contract.

It is safe to say that Siraj is one of the most improved cricketers of late. He has become a totally different bowler post the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020/2021. His fifer in the final Test showed that he is someone meant for greater things.

Despite not being a consistent performer in the IPL in the past, he has now ensured that his performances in the toughest T20 league in the world are worth speaking of. Speaking about his overall numbers, the Indian pacer has taken 45 wickets in 42 IPL games so far.

His bowling average and strike rate in IPL are 28.33 and 19.38 respectively. His performance in the first half of IPL 2021 was superb as well. Thus, it wouldn’t be a surprise if a lot of teams try to get Siraj in the IPL 2022 mega auction.
