IPL 2022: Performance of the most expensive buy of each team
Mumbai Indians bought Ishan Kishan for a whopping INR 15.25 crore, the most expensive buy at this year's auction.
8. Gujarat Titans – Lockie Ferguson (INR 10 crore)
Gujarat Titans, one of the two new franchises in this year’s competition, snapped Lockie Ferguson for INR 10 crore. The Kiwi speedster, who can regularly hit 150 kph, is a terrifying proposition for the batters.
The New Zealander had a great outing in IPL 2021 with KKR as he picked up 13 wickets in eight games, going under eight runs per over. He joined KKR in the latter stages of the tournament and had an instant impact. The right-arm quick was crucial in their run-up to the finals last year as he tightened things up at the back end of the innings for the two-time winners.
Ferguson was going to spearhead New Zealand’s bowling in the T20 World Cup last year, but unfortunately, he tore his calf before the tournament and did not play any part for the Kiwis. The speedster di not have a great time for the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 as he picked up 13 wickets in 13 games, going over nine runs per over.
