IPL 2022: Rating performances of teams in the third week

8. Chennai Super Kings –  7/10

It was an average week for the Super Kings with a single win in two league matches, but they will be happy to get two crucial points to get their campaign back on track. The batters have delivered for the team, while the bowlers still have scope for improvement. They are at ninth position in the points table with one win in five matches.

In their first appearance, they faced the Sunrisers and posted a total of 154, with the top contribution of 48 from Moeen Ali. In response, the opposition managed to secure an easy victory over them due to the defensive mindset of the CSK bowlers. The likes of Mukesh Choudhary and Dwayne Bravo picked up one wicket each.

In their second league match against RCB, Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa scored 95* and 88 respectively to steer the team to a strong total of 216. In response, the opposition tried well but the spinners Maheesh Theekshana and Ravindra Jadeja kept picking regular wickets to secure the first victory for the team.
