8. Chennai Super Kings – 7.5/10

CSK played two league matches in week 7, and secured victories in one of the fixtures. In a game against Delhi Capitals (DC), openers Ruturaj Gaikwad (41) and Devon Conway (87) were terrific to put up a stand of 110 runs. Then, Shivam Dube and MS Dhoni accelerated and helped the team to post a score of 208 on the board.

In response, the opposition could score only 117, with Moeen Ali being the pick of the bowlers with three dismissals. In their next outing, they faced their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians, and started on a disappointing note, with five batters already making their way to the pavilion in the powerplay overs. Skipper MS Dhoni’s knock of 36 off 33 balls paved the way for the team to score 97.

Pacers Mukesh Choudhary and Simarjeet Singh were terrific with their performances with the new ball and put pressure by dismissing four batters in the first six overs. However, the opposition showed fine grit and chased down the score.
