Rajasthan Royals (RR) have been on a roll in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). Jos Buttler is leading with the bat for them and Shimron Hetmyer is taking care of the finisher’s role while the bowling attack is doing its job perfectly to win matches for the team. They have won three matches and lost two so far this season and posted a mammoth total of 217 runs in their sixth encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 18 (Monday).

Buttler starred yet again with the bat scoring his second century of the season. He smashed 103 runs off just 61 deliveries with nine fours and five sixes. Despite his knock, the Royals lost momentum in the last few overs of the innings only to be propelled by Hetmyer, who yet again finished the innings with an unbeaten 26 off just 13 balls. Hitting two sixes and a four in the final over off Andre Russell, Hetmyer managed to propel the Royals to 217 runs in their 20 overs.

However, a funny incident took place during the last over. Russell delivered a short delivery off the fourth ball of the over even as the batter swung hard only to miss the contact with the ball. Shimron Hetmyer was extremely disappointed with himself over the same and lent out a huge scream which was clearly heard in the stump mic. The southpaw was very much upset with himself for missing out on hitting the third six of the over and hence, the reaction.

Jos Buttler owns the Orange Cap in style

Meanwhile, it was all about Jos Buttler yet again during the RR innings. After losing the toss, the Royals got off the blocks right from the word go courtesy of the England star. He took every bowler from the KKR line-up to the cleaners to smack his second ton of the season. He has also distanced himself from the other batters in the race for the Orange Cap now.

Buttler has so far scored a staggering 375 runs in six innings at an average of 75 and a strike-rate of 156.90 in IPL 2022. The second best in the list of top run-scorers is KL Rahul who has scored 235 runs in six innings.
