Kevin Pietersen is not quite happy with CA's management of the BBL

Former England skipper and international Kevin Pietersen is restricted to featuring in Twenty20 Leagues around the world. He is currently representing the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League 2016-17. But the star player isn’t pleased with the way Cricket Australia has been managing the league. While the BBL is underway the Australian national team is also hosting Pakistan for a tour and that has resulted in a lot of big names missing out on featuring in the tournament.

The Australian selectors picked the likes of Glenn Maxwell, James Faulkner, and Adam Zampa after they featured in the first four BBL games recently they also added allrounder Marcus Stoinis and batsman Pete Handscomb to the ODI team.

Petersen felt it was bitterly and disappointing that players who have been signed to play for the team aren’t available for crucial matches while all they are doing is preparing for another game and sitting in their hotel rooms. “I just find it bitterly disappointing that a guy can’t play in a fixture for us, which is a big fixture, to be sitting in a hotel room,” he was quoted by FoxSports.

Stoinis who was drafted into the Australian team might as well not feature in the XI while that doesn’t make much of a difference for Steve Smith’s team the Stars are certainly going to miss him. “I flew to Bloemfontein in South Africa in between two Test matches a couple of months ago to actually play. Stoinis might not even play (for Australia tomorrow). He certainly would (tonight) and I find it bitterly disappointing that he can’t play for the Stars. We were told he was going to play and now he’s been pulled out of our set up. I don’t understand the reasons. I find it strange and on a personal level I’m disappointed.” KP said.

The two have developed quite a bond during the course of the tournament and Stoinis said Pietersen shared his insights and he did the same after every game. “I’ll tell him what I was thinking and he says what he would’ve been thinking in that situation. It’s trying to fast-track development. He’s a legend.”
