India’s domination over South Africa continues. On Day-4 when the hosts took the field they needed only two wickets for a clean-sweep. But the way visitors lost their final wicket of Lungi Ngidi’s wicket left everyone in awe that ended Proteas’ horrific India tour.

India enforced follow-on over the visitors on Day-3. After that South African batters yet again knelt down in front of Indian bowlers and conclusively gave away their 16 wickets on the same day. As the fourth day started, it took only two overs for the Indian bowlers to complete the proceedings in the third Test and beat South Africa by an innings and 202 runs.

South Africa horrific tour comes to an end

Anrich Nortje and Theunis de Bruyn occupied the crease on the fourth day. Mohammed Shami started off with the first over for the day. After the pacer’s over, the local boy Shahbaz Nadeem was given the very next over who didn’t allow the batsmen to stay long. On the fifth delivery of his first over Nadeem dismissed Theunis de Bruyn, followed by the wicket of Lungi Ngidi on the last bowl in a bizarre fashion.

Actually, Ngidi looked aggressive against the left-arm spinner. He stepped out in order to send the flighted delivery bowled by Nadeem for a boundary. He hit it towards the non-striker’s end, but the ball hit on the shoulder of Anrich Nortje who was standing on the opposite end and the ball went into air which was then caught by Shahbaz Nadeem. It ended the Proteas innings.
