MS Dhoni: The Untold Story crosses Rs 100 crore in worldwide box office collection

After breaking box office records in India, Sushant Singh Rajput’s MS Dhoni: The Untold Story has created a storm at the box office this weekend in the worldwide market. The movie has collected overseas earnings of over Rs 20 crore in the first weekend taking the overall collections of the movie past Rs 100 crore gross worldwide collections in just three days.

The biopic on cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni collected Rs 21.96 crore over the weekend at the overseas market, with maximum business from UAE-GCC and the USA. “#MSDhoniTheUntoldStory is SUPERB Overseas… Opening weekend: $ 3.3 mn [21.96 cr]…UAE-GCC and USA-Canada contribute approx $2.3 mn,” tweeted Taran Adarsh.

While the net domestic collection of MS Dhoni The Untold Story is Rs 66 crore in the opening weekend, the film’s gross business at Indian box office is Rs 86 crore (approx). Thus the worldwide collection of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story stands at Rs 107 crore (approx) by the end of Sunday.

“#MSDhoniTheUntoldStory scores a century – global grosser of 100crs + in its 1st wknd,” tweeted another trade expert Girish Johar.

The movie earned Rs 6.54 crore in its opening weekend in the US. However, the highest collection in the overseas market has been from UAE-GCC with a business of Rs 7.97 crore in the first 3 days.

The film on Dhoni’s life has received positive response from critics and the strong word-of-mouth has been doing wonders. With no major releases in the coming days, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story is likely to dominate the box office with excellent figures.
