Asif Ali has turned out to be one of Pakistan’s finest middle-order batters and a finisher with his amazing power-hitting abilities in the last few years. Despite being a late boomer at the international level, Ali has tried his best to make the most of the limited opportunities that he has been getting since 2018.

On Thursday (May 19), the Faisalabad cricketer came forward and shared a piece of good news with all his fans and well-wishers as he has become a father for the second time. This was officially announced by Asif Ali himself on his Twitter handle where he posted an adorable picture to welcome his newborn baby and captioned it, “Mere Ghar Ayee Aik Nanhi Pari! Welcome to the World, Sweetheart!”

Asif Ali’s first daughter passed away when she was just 2 years old

It is indeed a happy moment for Asif Ali and his family after they lost their first daughter Noor Fatima who was suffering from stage-IV cancer. Noor Fatima passed away in May 2019 at a hospital in the United States of America where she was undergoing treatment. She was just two years old.

Despite battling with his personal problems, Asif Ali showed great determination while playing in the PSL 2019. The late cricket pundit Dean Jones, who was the head coach of Islamabad United back then not only saluted Ali’s spirit but also broke down while addressing the media during a press conference in March 2019 after the cricketer’s daughter was diagnosed with cancer.

After being sidelined from the national team due to inconsistent performances in the last couple of years, the middle-order batter finally succeeded in making it to Pakistan’s squad for the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup in the UAE. Even though his selection invited a lot of criticism from the cricketing fraternity, he proved them wrong with his power-hitting abilities in the middle-order.

Ali’s best performance in that competition was scoring a seven-ball 25 against Afghanistan just when it seemed that the game was slipping away from the Men In Green’s grasp. The senior batter played a crucial role in helping the Babar Azam-led side make the semis where they were eliminated by the eventual champions Australia.
