Police reacts to the allegations made against Mohammed Shami
Shami has been accused of adultery and torturing his wife.
In what seems to be one of the darkest phase in India pacer Mohammed Shami’s life, the speedster lands into more trouble after his wife Hasin Jahan accused him of having extra-marital affairs and physically assaulting her. Pertaining to the allegations the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) while announcing the annual contracts withheld Shami’s contract which further magnifies the troubles for the pacer.
His wife Hasin Jahan, on Wednesday evening, went to the Lalbazar Police headquarters in Kolkata to report about the issues between the couple. To support her allegations made against Shami, Jahan even posted several screenshots of vulgar messages exchanged between the cricketer and other girls over Whatsapp and Messenger on her Facebook profile.
Police has its say
According to the police, Jahan came to the headquarters although she didn’t lodge any official complaint but felt it is her responsibility to inform the police about the whole incident. Speaking to Times of India joint commissioner (crime) Praveen Tripathi said, “She came to Lalbazar and met us. She has told us in detail about the trouble between her and her husband but did not lodge any official complaint.”
She also highlighted all the bearings that she faced in the recent past.
“Shami abused me and started beating me even after returning from South Africa. He has been doing this for quite some time now and now I have had enough. I tried to convince myself for the sake of my family and daughter but he kept on harassing me and when I found those obscene chats with multiple women, all hell broke. I cannot tolerate this anymore and I have decided to take legal actions with all the available evidence. Instead of accepting his own mistakes, he used to vent his anger on me and even threaten me, asking to keep mum for my own goodwill,” Jahan was quoted as saying by Deccan Chronicle.
Shami has on his part maintained that this move by his wife to come out in public and reveal the personal information is a conspiracy to malign his image as well as career with no truth in it.
