Sarfraz Ahmed signs for Yorkshire, Azhar Ali congratulates him

Many Pakistani cricketers are already playing for different teams in the Natwest T20 Blast.

Pakistani skipper Sarfraz Ahmed is enjoying the time of his life. Under his captaincy, the Men in Green won the prestigious Champions Trophy for the first time, that too defeating arch-rivals India. He was later handed over the responsibility of captaining the Test side. Now, he has signed for the ongoing T20 Blast side Yorkshire Vikings. Team-mate Azhar Ali has congratulated the skipper on social media.

On Twitter, the Pakistani destructive opening batsman wrote “Congratulations @SarfrazA_54on your T20 blast signing with Yorkshire! #GoodLuck.” Sarfraz’s team-mate and Numero Uno all-rounder Imad Wasim has already signed for Durham County that plays in the same tournament. Pakistan’s hero of the ICC Champions Trophy final, pace spearhead Mohammad Amir is plying his trade for Essex in the competition.

 

Former Pakistani captain ‘Boom Boom’ Shahid Afridi is donning the Hampshire jersey. Amir’s partner in crime, left-arm speedster Junaid Khan has signed for T20 Blast team Lancashire. He had left for the United Kingdom earlier this week to join them. In a nutshell, a host of Pakistani cricketers are enjoying their time in the domestic T20 competition of United Kingdom.

Natwest T20 Blast: Statistics till now

In the North Group, Derbyshire is leading the points table at the moment with two wins out of two. Warwickshire is behind them just on the basis of Net Run Rate after winning their opening 2 matches. In the South Group, Hampshire is leading the flock with 2 wins out of two. Surrey too has won as many matches as them, only after playing a game more.

English cricketer Luke Wright, who plays for Sussex, is the highest scorer in the tournament till now, with 151 runs in a couple of games. Tom Curran, the young bowler who plays for Surrey, is the leading wicket-taker till now with wickets in three matches. Shahid Afridi is 3 wickets behind him, having played a game less.
