Preview:

Nepal and Zimbabwe will take on each other in a crucial match of the Singapore T20I Tri-series on Tuesday. All the three teams in the tournament have won one game apiece but Nepal is on the top thanks to their big win over Singapore. Their skipper Paras Khadka scored the first century for Nepal in the T20 format as they chased down the target of 152 with four overs to spare.

On the other hand, Zimbabwe started with a convincing over Nepal in the tournament opener. A 69-run unbeaten partnership for the 6th wicket saw them through to the 133-run target. In their second game against Singapore, they fell five runs short of the target. Chasing 182 to win in the restricted 18 overs, Zimbabwe were placed at 136/2 after 12 overs before falling apart in the final six.

Weather Condition/Report:

Scattered thunderstorms are predicted for Tuesday afternoon at the Indian Association ground. However, the chances of rain come down by evening. We might have a delayed start like on Sunday but no interruptions after that.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The Indian Association Ground continues to be good venue for the chasing teams. The first two matches were won by the chasing teams while Singapore sneaked in a 4-run win against Zimbabwe on Sunday. The target was a bit tricky as the required rate was over 10 from the start. Teams will continue opting to field at this venue after winning the toss.

Average first innings score: 152 (unaffected T20I matches)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 6, Lost – 4

Power Picks:

Ryan Burl has made contributions at least in one department. He scored an unbeaten 41 in the first game and took three wickets in the second. Md Arif Sheikh would be hoping to give good support for the other batsman as he did in the previous match. Abinash Bohara hasn’t taken a wicket in the two matches but bowled well in the previous game. His spell at the death is why Singapore made only 151. He could take few wickets if Zimbabwe bat first as they have a tendency to collapse towards the end.

With both teams winning one game apiece, this match becomes crucial for both. Zimbabwe might look to bring in Peter Moor and strengthen their middle-order. Nepal might also bring in one specialist batsmen given their good performance with the ball in the first two games.
