Cricket Buzz: Social media trends on October 16

Afghan spin wizard Rashid Khan expressed his gratitude to fans present at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, after they registered a historic 69-run win over England, in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on October 15. Former India cricketers Aakash Chopra, Pragyan Ojha, Dinesh Karthik, and Sachin Tendulkar expressed their happiness after the International Olympic Committee (IOC) officially announced its approval of the proposal to include cricket in the 2028 Olympic Games, to be held in Los Angeles.

Angelo Mathews wished Kusal Mendis the best, as the latter was captaining Sri Lanka in their World Cup game against Australia. Former India batter Robin Uthappa praised Sri Lanka openers Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Perera after both scored half-centuries to hand a solid start for the side.
