Lucknow Super Giants have decided to switch their dark blue jersey to a maroon and green one for their upcoming match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on April 14. This decision was made as the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group owns both LSG and the Indian Super League team Mohun Bagan Super Giant.  The move comes in wake to pay homage to the popular football club, the defending ISL champions, by adopting their maroon and green colours.

Furthermore, reports suggest that KL Rahul and his team are expected to attend Mohun Bagan's ISL Shield decider the following day. LSG will aim to return to winning form as they face Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday. Although they lost their initial match against the Rajasthan Royals, LSG have won three consecutive games before losing against Delhi Capitals at home. Currently, Lucknow find themselves fourth on the IPL 2024 Points Table.

KL Rahul & Co recently suffered a 7-wicket loss against DC. They currently hold the fourth position in the points table, having secured six points from four matches with a net run rate of +0.4386. Rahul, the captain of LSG, attributed the team's fielding errors and inability to break the partnership to their subpar performance.

"We walked in with the same kind of mindset, assess what the good areas, what pace works on this wicket and execute as well as we can. We got Warner, and a couple after the powerplay. We were in the game till the 10th over, then a dropped catch and then Rishabh Pant and Jake Fraser-McGurk took it away from us. We fought till the end. McGurk, the new guy when they come in, was very unknown. We've watched a lot of videos of him, but he hit the ball really well, credit to him," LSG skipper said during the post-match presentation.
