Former World Cup winning captains MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev were present at the Arthur Ashe stadium in New York to watch the quarterfinal game of the US Open. It was one of the longest games ever in the history of US Open, as it went on for 5 hours and 15 minutes to decide the winner between Italy’s Janik Sinner and Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz. Both these youngsters put out a delight for the fans in the stands.

While the camera suddenly turned towards Dhoni, he waved at the screen with his friends accompanying him nearby. At the other end, it was Kapil Dev watching the game closely and he gave a smile towards the camera too.

While Dhoni won India three ICC titles (2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 Cricket World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy), Kapil Dev was the first to win an ICC Cricket World Cup for India in 1983.

CSK confirm MS Dhoni as skipper for 2023

Meanwhile, Dhoni was recently confirmed as the skipper of the Chennai Super Kings for IPL 2023. The 41-year-old can still win games even if he does not get enough runs with the bat. The CSK franchise had a poor season this year and there was a lot of confusion early with captaincy changing hands from Dhoni to Ravindra Jadeja and then to Dhoni again. Meanwhile, another franchise legend, Suresh Raina has announced his retirement from all forms of the game and will not be putting his name up in the IPL auction again.
