Sho Madjozi, the popular South Africa rapper, actress and singer, has opened up on her relationship with Proteas fast bowler Kagiso Rabada. The 27-year-old has quashed the rumours, saying that she is only friend with the speedster, but also understands the reasons behind the speculations. Rabada recently was rested for the three-match T20I series against England that the hosts lost 1-2.

The seamer made his comeback in the series versus Australia earlier this month. During the break, Kagiso had some time off in the United States. There he met Madjozi and the duo was spotted at a number of events, which also included the NBA All-Star Weekend in Chicago.

“We are actually friends. I suppose the rumours come from the fact that we hang out a lot and I am a big fan of cricket,” Madjozi was quoted as saying in Tshisa Live on the ed carpet at the Premiere of the brand new Netflix series Queen Sono.

She’s a friend of mine, says Rabada

The pair has been spotted even earlier, but Rabada denied that there’s nothing blossoming between them. He said that Madjozi became his friend after they started interacting on social media platform, Instagram. “She’s a friend of mine. A year and a half ago, we were chatting on Instagram, then we just became friends. We’ve been friends ever since,” Rabada stated to the Magazine in February 2020.

Apart from honing his skills on the cricket pitch, Rabada has even played the role of a DJ at Red Bull events. He went down the memory lane and remembered the times when he performed alongside Temba Bavuma, South Africa’s T20I opener of late.

“Myself and Temba, ever since we started playing at the Lions, enjoy our music. We were at a Standard Bank activations event and there were some decks and we literally played for like an hour. I’ve also played at a Red Bull cart race once and it is quite cool. I’ve got a lot of DJ friends that I chat to till this day,” he told SA Cricket Magazine this week.

Rabada had a tough return to international cricket. In three matches against the Aussies, he could only manage a couple of wickets. Moreover, he conceded in excess of 40 runs on two instances in Johannesburg and Cape Town.
