South Africa finished off the deciding Test match at Centurion on the 4th day as they bowled out the visitors for just 195 after setting a target of 400 runs. Dale Steyn picked a 5-wicket haul and ripped off the New Zealand top order. Nicholls’ fight could only bring down their losing margin to 204 runs. Here we look at all the stats and records recorded during 4th day’s play.

0 – Number of Test series New Zealand has won against South Africa. Their wait continues.

1 – Quinton de Kock is now the first wicket-keeper to score fifty plus scores in both the innings of a Test as an opener and make more than 5 dismissals.

1 – For the first time in Tests, both the New Zealand openers got out for a golden duck in the same innings. Martin Guptill and Tom Latham bagged first ball ducks in the NZ’s 2nd innings of this test.

2000 – Last time before this Test, both the openers got out for a golden duck in the same innings was in 2000 by Sri Lankan openers vs South Africa at Kandy.

2006 – Last time before this game, 3 out of New Zealand’s top 4 got out for ducks in a Test innings was in 2006 also vs South Africa at Johannesburg.

2009 – The last keeper before de Kock to score fifties in both the innings and make more than 5 dismissals in a Test was MS Dhoni at Wellington against New Zealand.
