Pakistan captain Azhar Ali would not have imagined the chaos which was waiting to happen when he was put to field first after losing the toss this morning to Eoin Morgan. The Englishmen treated the Pakistanis as street level amateurs and went on to stack up the highest ODI team total ever ending the first innings with 444/3 on the scoreboard.

The pitch was meant to be batting friendly and Morgan would have felt satisfied after winning the toss. Jason Roy and Alex Hales also stepped out with the intention of getting a big score. Both began the day with a brisk start before getting separated.

This was the only time when it appeared that the Pakistan bowlers had any control over the game. What followed next left them completely battered and bruised. Hales, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler hammered the Pakistanis mercilessly. They were completely clueless and just kept bowling and bowling.

England raced past 250 with the Hales -Root pair at the crease. Later, Morgan and Buttler took charge and soon England went past the 300, 350, 400 and eventually finished with 444/3 without breaking a sweat.

The bowling numbers were pathetic. Wahab Riaz received the harshest treatment today and returned to the pavilion with horrible figures of 0/110. Which was the second-worst ODI bowling figures. Hasan Ali (2/74) and Mohammad Amir (0/72) also received hammering they would not forget.

Spin bowling duo of Mohammad Nawaz (1/62 ) and Yasir Shah (0/48 in 6 overs) were also not spared and smacked all over their park. Part-timers Shoaib Malik (0/44 in 3 overs) and Azhar Ali (0/20 in 1 over) also gave away freebies.
