Bhuvneshwar Kumar proved to be the best bowler of the series. He bowled sensationally in the first T20I. After picking two wickets in the powerplay, it was Bhuvi’s crucial over in the end overs that saw as many as four wickets fall in the run chase.

He returned with figures of 5/24, his best ever in the format. He was rested in the second game but cameback strong in the final match again. He proved to be the perfect finisher for India as he bowled the final over defending 19 runs. He finished with figures of 2/24 to seal the fate for the Indian team.

Rookie Indian pacer Shardul Thakur got a his chance in the T20I series after warming the bench in the ODIs. Shardul managed to bowl decently in the limited opportunities that he got. After warming the bench in the first game, he returned with figures of 1/31 in the second game. In the final T20I, Shardul took the big wicket of JP Duminy in the run chase to bring India back in to the game.

10. Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah was not among the wickets column too often in the series. But the Indian limited overs specialist was at the task of bowling with accuracy in the death overs for sure. Bumrah returned with figures of none for 32 in the first game.

This, in essence, was a big effort considering the fact that it was a high scoring game. In the second game, he was rested. In the final game, he returned with figures of 1/39 in the four overs that he bowled. He kept things tight up front and did not let the South African openers dictate terms ever in the contest.

South African bowler Junior Dala was undoubtedly the best bowler for his side in the series. In the absence of frontline bowlers like Kagiso Rabada, South Africa needed someone to take responsibility with the new ball. Dane Paterson and Chris Morris looked struggling.

And it was right then that Junior Dala stepped up. He dismissed the Indian opener Rohit Sharma in each of the three matches in the series. He finished with 7 wickets to his name in the series with a best of 3/35 in the final match.
