India registered an emphatic 10 wicket win over Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup Finals 2023 as Mohammed Siraj rattled the Lankan batters with his fiery spell in their own den, ending up with 6/21 in his seven overs. India chased down the target with 263 balls to spare, the biggest win for them in terms of balls remaining. This is also the second-shortest completed ODI in terms of balls bowled, with the game witnessing only 129 balls.

The shortest completed ODI in terms of balls bolwed was played at the same venue, Colombo. The 2001 ODI between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe lasted only 120 balls (20 overs) as Zimbabwe were bowled out for just 38 runs. Chaminda Vaas recorded the best bowling figures in ODI cricket with his 8/19 to skittle out Zimbabwe in just 15.4 overs. The home team chase down the 39-run target in only 4.2 overs for the loss of one wicket.

As many as nine ODI matches have completed in fewer than 200 deliveries, with the last such instance coming in 2018, the Pakistan-Zimbabwe clash in Bulawayo. Pakistan thumped the hosts without breaking a sweat in the third match of the five-match series as they bundled out Zimbabwe for just 67 runs after losing the toss. In response, Pakistan lost the wicket of Imam-ul-Haq on the very first ball but cruised to the target in 9.5 overs.
