While the English and the Aussie players are sharing a fierce rivalry on the field during Ashes, a rivalry off the field between the two former greats Kevin Pietersen and Mitchell Johnson has been nothing less. While both are extroverts and like to speak their minds, it was Johnson who had the last laugh on this occasion as he managed to get under the skin of KP and frustrated him to an extent that the 37-year-old blocked him on Twitter.

It was a funny story which started with Johnson tagging Pietersen and the former English opener Michael Vaughan in a tweet and taunting them about the speeds of the English bowlers saying that they were bowling “medium pace” since the time they had opted for the second new ball in the Gabba Test match and that’s when they have a 4-man pace attack to share the workload.

That taunt clearly didn’t impress Pietersen who enquired with Johnson if he posted that tweet himself or it was someone from his management team who tweeted it. KP also warned Johnson if it’s him, he shouldn’t go any further with that and if it’s his management, he should sack them, but that warning had no effect whatsoever on the former Aussie speedster who responded in the same tone again and called KP a “flog”.

That tweet was enough for KP to put Johnson on his block list. Johnson was however not going to stay behind in that battle any bit as he quickly took a screenshot of the block notification and put it on Twitter to make sure KP was brutally trolled by Twitterati for his childish behaviour and that’s what happened as the Twitterati ripped into KP for that.

Here is how the story panned out:
