The Hundred Women's tournament has been a great platform for female cricketers to showcase their talent in a unique format. The first edition of the tournament was held in 2021, at a time when the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) was the only franchise-based competition for female cricketers.
Oval Invincibles won the inaugural edition of the tournament, beating Southern Brave in a one-sided final by 48 runs. The following season saw these two teams colliding once again in the final. Once again, The Invincibles got the better of Southern Brave, this time by five wickets.
After suffering heartbreaks in the first two seasons, Southern Brave managed to lift the coveted title in 2023. They defeated Northern Superchargers by 34 runs. The 2024 edition of the tournament saw two new finalists. London Spirit triumphed over Welsh Fire by four wickets, lifting their maiden title.
The most recent edition of the tournament saw Northern Superchargers winning the title for the first time. Southern Brave lost their third final in five seasons. They were defeated by seven wickets. All the five finals have been played at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London. Nicola Carey won the Player of the Match award, while Phoebe Litchfield was named Player of the Tournament.
